International exchange on the energy transition at 2G in Heek
January 15, 2026
As part of a multi-day tour through Germany, we had the pleasure of welcoming 27 students from the University of Minnesota studying sustainability and energy to 2G. We were proud to be a host for this international exchange.
Following a company presentation and site tour, the focus was on in-depth discussions. There was particularly strong interest in the combination of combined heat and power (CHP) and heat pumps as a future-oriented energy solution.
The conversations also covered U.S.-specific topics, including data centers, AI applications, and energy infrastructure — areas in which 2G is already very active in the U.S. market and was able to share valuable practical insights.
Many thanks to Christof Wetter and Sabine Engel for organizing this inspiring visit and for fostering the connection between academia and industry. Exchanges like these help drive the global dialogue on sustainable energy solutions.
