CEO

Christian Grotholt

appointed until 31 July, 2025

Christian Grotholt (born 1968; nationality: German) co-founded 2G in 1995 together with his partner Mr. Ludger Gausling. The company is located in Heek in the northwestern part of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Since the company went public in July 2007 he is the CEO and responsible for Strategy, IT and Sales. The engineer led the company from a packager of cogeneration engines to an international active developer and manufacturer of combined heat and power plants. After his apprenticeship as an Electronic Technician in 1989 and some years of relevant professional experience he completed his studies of Electrical Engineering at Dortmund Polytechnic specialising in Power Engineering.

COO

Ludger Holtkamp

appointed until 31 July, 2025

Ludger Holtkamp (born 1963; nationality: German) is management board member as COO of 2G since the company went public in July 2007. He is responsible for Procurement, Production and Project Management. He is a specialist in Technical Engineering and has more than 30 years of professional experience including assembling CHP plants. Before joining 2G he worked for OSMO, a sizeable German plant manufacturer, taking care of many complex projects with up to 30 MW of thermal power for twelve years as Head of the Department for Plant Engineering and Construction. After his apprenticeship as a Heating System Installer Mr. Holtkamp completed two on-the-job trainings as Certified Technician in the field of Mechanical Engineering and in the field of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.

CFO

Friedrich Pehle

appointed until 31 December, 2027

Friedrich Pehle (born 1971; nationality: German) was in December 2017 appointed to the board as CFO. He is responsible for the Finance, Investor Relations, Controlling and Human Resources. Before joining 2G Energy AG, he spent more than 20 years working for various international agricultural machinery and energy companies, both domestically and abroad. He was mostly employed in a variety of managerial positions at the interface between business administration and technology. Between 2009 and 2013 he was CFO at Kverneland ASA, which is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange, and most recently worked as manager for finance/logistics/IT at an international supplier in the wind energy sector. The economics graduate (BA) studied at the University of Cooperative Education in Stuttgart from 1991-1994, specializing in industrial business administration with a focus on accounting and controlling.

CTO

Frank Grewe

appointed until June 30, 2026

Frank Grewe (born 1981; nationality: German) was appointed to the board on July 1, 2020 and is responsible for the service and research & development. Frank Grewe finished his studies in mechanical engineering at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences in early 2007 and started his career at 2G Energietechnik GmbH. In 2008 he took over the management of Research & Development and was appointed Managing Director of 2G Drives GmbH in 2010 when this department was spun off. In 2015 he also took over the management of the structure and strategy of the service department of 2G Energietechnik GmbH. With the merger of 2G Drives GmbH into 2G Energietechnik GmbH in 2019, the appointment as managing director for research & development and service at 2G Energietechnik GmbH took place.

Supervisory Board

Dr. Lukas Lenz

Dr. Lukas Lenz (born 1963; nationality: German) is a Hamburg based entrepreneur and attorney-at-law focused on stock corporation and capital market law, corporate finance as well as mergers & acquisitions. He has a long standing and comprehensive experience as member of supervisory boards with numerous listed companies. In addition to his position as chairman of the supervisory board of 2G Energy AG he is currently also chairman of the supervisory board of FALKENSTEIN Nebenwerte AG, Hamburg, ABR German Real Estate AG, and of the Private Assets AG, Hamburg.

 

Dr. Lukas Lenz was elected as member of the supervisory board of 2G Energy AG by the ordinary Annual General Meeting on 03 June 2022. Term of office ends with the Annual General Meeting which decides on the discharge of the management and supervisory board members for the business year 2026.

Dr. Jürgen Vutz

Dr. Jürgen Vutz (born 1957; nationality: German) was CEO of the Lengerich based engineering company Windmöller & Hölscher ("W&H") and Managing Partner from 2001. On January 01, 2021, he moved to the Supervisory Board of W&H. A graduate in mechanical engineering and economics, Dr. Vutz received his doctorate in engineering from RWTH Aachen University in 1986. Before joining W&H in 1998, Dr. Vutz held various management positions at the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology (RWTH Aachen) and Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG.

 

In addition to his activities as the deputy chairman of the Supervisory Board of 2G Energy AG, he is also the chairman of the Supervisory Board of Windmöller & Hölscher SE and Scheidt & Bachmann GmbH.

 

Dr. Jürgen Vutz was elected as member of the supervisory board of 2G Energy AG by the ordinary Annual General Meeting on 03 June 2022. Term of office ends with the Annual General Meeting which decides on the discharge of the management and supervisory board members for the business year 2026.

Prof. Dr. Christof Wetter

Prof. Dr. Christof Wetter (born 1960; nationality: German) is a professor at the Department of Energy, Buildings, Environment at Münster University of Applied Sciences, specializing in environmental engineering, wastewater technology, biomass utilization and recycling, particularly in biogas plants and biofuels (biohydrogen, biomethane, bioethanol, biodiesel ...). He studied civil engineering at RWTH Aachen University, where he received his doctorate in engineering in 1993. Prior to his appointment at Münster University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Wetter held various consulting and management positions in Germany and abroad.

 

Apart from his activities as a member of the Supervisory Board of 2G Energy AG, he is a member of theSupervisory Board of Enapter AG.

 

Prof. Dr. Christof Wetter was elected as member of the supervisory board of 2G Energy AG by the ordinary Annual General Meeting on 03 June 2022. Term of office ends with the Annual General Meeting which decides on the discharge of the management and supervisory board members for the business year 2021.
