Cooprolama Cooperativa Prottici Latte, a Brescia company, with over 70 years of experience in the production of milk and cheese, has decided to improve the efficiency of its processes with the installation of the g-box 50 cogenerator from 2G Italia. This investment has proven to be a success, allowing the company to significantly reduce energy costs and emissions.

The cogenerator was installed in an external box built directly by the customer, and provides electricity and hot water for the production processes of Grana Padano and other fine Italian cheeses. With an electrical power of 160 kW and a thermal power of 168 kW, the system achieves an exceptional overall efficiency of 103.1%, simultaneously satisfying the company's thermal and electrical needs.

Thanks to this solution, Cooprolama, which has an annual production of around 1,000 quintals of milk for the production of various cheeses, has seen its energy needs significantly reduced thanks to the cogenerator.

With savings of around €50,000 per year and a production of 300,000 kWh of electricity, Cooprolama expects to achieve a return on investment in just 3 years, making the cogenerator installation a financial and operational success.

The Cooperative has demonstrated how sustainable cogeneration can bring tangible advantages and a positive impact on dairy production, offering a concrete example of excellence in the management of energy resources.
