Your tasks
- Carry out field-based routine maintenance tasks and scheduled service checks to ensure the ongoing efficiency and reliability of CHP systems as per manufacturer’s protocols.
- Diagnose, repair, and replace faulty components or parts as required.
- Perform troubleshooting and fault-finding to identify system issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
- Provide on-call support for emergency breakdowns and be available for out-of-hours emergency work as required.
- Ensure excellent customer service through professional communication, timely resolutions, and a positive customer experience.
- Work safely in accordance with UK standard and company H&S regulations and policies.
Your profile
Essential:
- Proven experience working with CHP systems, gas engines, or related power generation equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge.
- Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and problem-solve effectively.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including on-call shifts.
Desirable:
- Manufacturer-specific training or experience with MAN, Liebherr, or MTU CHP systems.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainable power generation solutions.
- Previous experience in a field-based service role
Qualifications & Attributes:
- Recognised qualification in engineering, ideally a City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent in Gas Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Gas Safe Registered (essential for working with gas systems).
- CHP-specific qualifications or experience in power generation systems (MAN, Liebherr, MTU) (desirable).
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose faults and implement solutions.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Full UK driving licence (essential for field-based work).
