Experiencing the energy transition by bicycle

At the beginning of April, prior to the state election in North-Rhine Westphalia, about 60 cyclists from the Münsterland, 2G’s home region, took their bikes on a tour to experience the energy transition. The tour with a total length of 370 km from Münster to Düsseldorf spread over five days led the participants to visit projects, businesses and actors of the energy transition underlining the importance as well as the intricacies and diversity of energy transition. As a grand finale of the tour, the "golden book of energy transition" was handed over to the energy-political representatives of all parties at the state senate in Düsseldorf. This bicycle tour was intended as a symbol for the necessity of sector coupling in the name of energy transition: wind and sun as core element of the future energy mix, supported by flexible biogas and CHP systems as the regenerative spinal cord of energy supply.
