The company RONDO FOOD specializes in snack products for dogs and cats and has two production sites. The products are marketed under the brand names of major trading companies and industrial partners. RONDO FOOD offers an extensive range of dog and cat snacks in the private label sector.

An avus 1000b from 2G is used at the production site in Krefeld (NRW). In order to keep the noise level as low as possible, the CHP was installed in an existing machine house with a walk-in sound capsule. The CHP thus achieves a noise level of 45 dB(A) at 10 m. In accordance with the current BImSchV, this is equipped with a full SCR system.

A large amount of steam is required in the production process to produce the animal feed, which is generated using a steam generator (steam quantity 1000 kg/h). The CHP and the steam generator replace the existing steam boiler. The use of a CHP visibly reduces the amount of electricity drawn from the grid. The 16-cylinder CHP plant has an electrical output of 999 kW - the plant delivers 1067 kW thermally. The addition of energy generation using CHP plants is already planned for the other production facility. "Based on our previous experience, we will also rely on 2G technology at our second location in Halle. The implementation will take place in spring 2023," says project manager Mr. Köster.
