Huron Lodge is a modern long-term care facility that was established in 2007. The building covers 177,000 square feet and comprises living areas, common spaces, and various amenities. Since a large volume of water is required for bathing and cooking, the thermostat is set at a high temperature to ensure the residents' comfort.

The facility uses natural gas to generate electricity through a CHP system. The thermal energy produced during this process is captured and utilized to heat the building and water. The CHP system has helped the Huron Lodge save more than $200,000 every year on electricity and heating expenses.
